Detailed Itineraries for Botswana and Zimbabwe 16 Days

Day 1: Maun
Arriving in Maun around lunch time, enjoy a relaxing afternoon in the African sun at your       establishment for the night. You will receive all the information regarding your stay at the Okavango Delta establishment.

Day 2: Delta
Enjoy a scenic flight over the Okavango Delta on your way to the lodge where you will be spending two nights. Enjoy the African sunset on the mokoros (dugout canoe) on one of the many shallow water channels of the Okavango Delta.

Day 3: Delta
Go on a morning bush walk and have a relaxing day at the pool. Or if you choose to, you can do an afternoon game drive on an open game drive vehicle and or do a night drive before having dinner around a camp fire in the African bush.

Day 4: Maun
Upon return from the Okavango Delta will you receive your 4×4 vehicle at the airport. You will have time in the afternoon to get all the necessary provisions for your 4 days in the National Parks.
 
Day 5: Moremi Game Reserve (200km +/- 4 hours)
Leaving after breakfast, you will make your journey to Moremi Game Reserve which is situated on the Eastern border of the Okavango Delta. You will be spending the evenings in campsites run by private concession owners and afford the opportunity to enjoy the African bush sounds. The campsites in the parks are not fenced off and there is a good chance that you will have some visitors at the campsites.

Day 6: Moremi Game Reserve (between 2 to 8 hours)
Leave the campsite early going on game drives and have the opportunity to see some of the wildlife Botswana is known for.

Day 7: Savuti Marsh (Chobe National Park) (200km +/- 6 hours)
Leaving early in the morning again and cross the famous North Bridge over the Kwai River you will be leaving the Okavango Delta behind and drive towards the Savuti Marsh – an expanse of grasslands. The roads will be getting sandier and at certain areas you will be driving through some thick sand while crossing the Sandridge “road”, which is an arm of the great rift valley in Africa. Tonight, you will be spending the night on the edge of the Savuti Marsh. 

Day 8: Chobe National Park (140km +/- 4 hours) 
Leaving early again you will be making your way to the Chobe River.  The drive today is in some parts thick sand and some public dirt roads. You will be entering the Chobe National park close to the Namibian border and have a nice game drive on the banks of the Chobe river to your campsite which is overlooking the Chobe river.

Day 9: Victoria Falls (100km 3 hours)
Leave Botswana behind today and cross the border into Zimbabwe. After the border formalities will it be around an hour’s drive to get to the town of Victoria Falls. Once settled in at your establishment, will there be the opportunity to book some of the activities in and around Victoria Falls, which is known as the adventure capital of Zimbabwe.

Day 10: Victoria Falls
Today is a day to explore the town, to do the activities booked the day before, and visit the Victoria Water Falls (one of the7 wonders of the world). If there is time a visit to the world-famous Victoria Falls Hotel where royals have stayed, before enjoying a traditional “afternoon tea”. 

Day 11: Hwange National Park (120km 2hours)
Leaving the Victoria Falls behind will you be making your way towards Hwange National Park. It is a short drive to the establishment, and you will have the chance to visit the National Park in the afternoon either by driving yourself or going on an open vehicle game drive.

Day 12: Matopos National Park (380km 6 hours)
Today will you driving towards the city of Bulawayo well known for its architecture. Continuing towards Matopos National Park where you will be staying outside the Park. Matopos is well known for the granite and basalt rock formations. 

Day 13: Matopos National Park
Today is a full day of exploring the area with a local professional guide. Some of the highlights includes the grave of Cecil John Rhodes, bushmen paintings and an open vehicle game drive in the National Park where you will have the opportunity to do a game walk and come up close and personal with some of the resident rhinos in the park. 

Day 14: Goo Moremi Gorge (360km 5 hours)
Leaving Zimbabwe behind and return to Botswana where you will be making your way towards the Goo Moremi Gorge. After settling in can you do a nice walk to the viewpoint overlooking the gorge.

Day 15: Khama Rhino Sanctuary (130km 2 hours)
Having a short drive today, will you be making your way to the Khama Rhino Sanctuary where you will have l the last opportunity to do a game drive and have a chance to see the elusive Black Rhino

Day 16: Maun (520km 6 hours)
Today will you be making way back to Maun. Once back in Maun will you return your vehicle and get ready for your journey back home.
