Day 1: Cape Town

Arriving in Cape Town you will receive your vehicle and make your way towards your accommodation for the evening. During the afternoon there is time to explore the city and sunset on Table Mountain is a must (weather permitting). Having dinner at the V&A Waterfront is a nice way to end the first day being on holidays.

Day 2: Hermanus

Today will you be making your way to the whale capital of South Africa and will be driving on one of the most scenic ocean drives in in the world. On your way to Hermanus you will have the opportunity to visit an African Penguin colony. Upon arrival in Hermanus it is time for lunch and exploring the picturesque coastal town or go on a whale watching safari.

Day 3: De Hoop Nature Reserve

Today you have the opportunity to go and dive with Great White sharks, for the adventurous types [comment: include some activity here for non-divers or others] The drive today is relatively short, and you will be passing by the most southern point of Africa, where the Indian and Atlantic oceans meet. After lunch will you be making your way to the small but impressive Bontebok National Park. Once you arrived at the National Park can you explore the park and try to spot the endangered Bontebok (antelope) and go for a walk on the white sand dunes the park is known for.

Day 4 and 5: Knysna

Today will you continue you journey on the Garden route and make your way towards the coastal town of Knysna. The next two days will be spent at leisure and exploring the area. A great excursion is a boat trip to the famous Knysna Heads where the estuary and the ocean meets. Visit the Featherbed nature reserve and see if you can spot the endangered Knysna Turaco (bird) or the critically endangered Knysna Sea Horse. You can also do a short drive and experience the Knysna forest and the century old yellowwood trees, or just explore the town with its big variety of markets and souvenir shops.

Day 6: Oudtshoorn

Having a relatively short drive today you will be crossing the Outeniqua Mountains on your way to the Ostrich capital of South Africa – Oudtshoorn. Arriving at your destination early will give you plenty of time to go and explore the magnificent Cango Caves, and visiting an Ostrich Farm and more.

Day 7: Franschhoek

Having a longer drive today along South Africa’s famous R62 you will be making your way back towards the winelands. Upon arrival in Franschhoek can you explore the area in the afternoon and do some wine tasting, enjoy an afternoon on the wine tram which will take you on a trip and stop at the famous wineries for wine tasting.

Day 8: Cape Town

Today will you have the short drive back to Cape Town where you can hand the vehicle back before making your way back home.

1. Comfort

You will be staying in lodges between 3- and 4-star grading except in the National Parks where accommodation will be in the Camp chalets.

2. Comfort and camping

You will be staying in lodges between 3- and 4-star grading and will be spending some nights in a campsite where you will be sleeping in a roof top tent on top of the vehicle.

3. Camping

You will be staying in public campsite and be sleeping in a roof top tent.
