Detailed Itineraries for Northern South Africa 7 days

Day 1: Johannesburg
Arriving in Johannesburg you will get your vehicle and spend the afternoon relaxing at the establishment.

Day 2: Mapungubwe National Park (530km 6 hours)
Having an early breakfast you will be leaving the city behind and head north towards the Zimbabwean border, aiming to arrive at the establishment around lunch time. During the afternoon there will be an opportunity to do your first game drive and head towards the Limpopo River confluence from where you will be able to see 3 countries in one picture, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Botswana. Tonight, you will be spending your first night in the African Bush.  

Day 3: Kruger National Park (265km 5 hours)
After breakfast you will be heading east towards the most northern camp in Kruger National Park. After you have entered Kruger National Park you will enjoy around a 2-hour game drive to your camp for the night. A great viewpoint on the way to the camp is Crooks Corner from where you can see Zimbabwe, Mozambique and South Africa in one picture.

Day 4 and 5 Kruger National Park
Have an early start today and enjoy a full day of game driving on your way to the next camp where you will be staying 2 nights. You will be staying in the central part of the park, which is renowned for the concentrations of wildlife. 

Day 6: Panoramic route (170km 3 ½ hours)
After another early start you will be driving for about an hour to the exit gate of Kruger National Park. After exiting the park, you will slowly make your way up the escarpment, which is the border between the lowveld region (low lying region) and the highveld region (high lying region). Keep an eye out in the sudden change of ecosystem. Once you are on top of the escarpment you will have the opportunity to view the famous 3 rondavels (huts) which are rock formations at the mouth of the Blyde River Canyon. This is the 3rd largest canyon in the world and the largest green canyon in the world, from there will you be driving on the rim of the canyon enjoying spectacular views.

Day 7: Johannesburg (400km 5 hours)
Today will you be driving through some spectacular scenery and be back in Johannesburg around lunch time.
