Detailed Itineraries for Northern Cape 7 days

Day 1: Upington
After arrival in the small town of Upington will you receive your vehicle and have time to relax and familiarise yourself with the vehicle.

Day 2: Witsand Nature Reserve (200km 2 ½ hours)
Having a relaxing morning and do some final shopping before heading out towards the white sand dunes of Witsand (Afrikaans for white sand). Upon arrival will you be able to test your 4×4 skills on some of the 4×4 routes available, do a guided nature walk, or try your hand at some sand boarding (African version of snow boarding). Tonight, will you be spending your first evening under the African sky. Keep an eye out for scorpions which are having a beautiful neon colour at night when blue lights are shown on them. As the temperature drops have a listen to the roar of the sand dunes.

Day 3: Kuruman (180km 2 hours)
After breakfast will you be heading out towards the small town of Kuruman. On the way will you be passing some of the largest iron ore mines in South Africa. Upon arrival and after settling on your establishment for the night, is a visit to the Kuruman Eye well worth it. The eye is a natural spring which forms and oasis in the green Kalahari and are believed to be linked to numerous other water holes throughout Southern Africa by water tables deep underneath the earth.

Day 4 and 5: Kgalagadi National Park (380km 4 ½ hours)
For the next few days will be spending at one of the Transfrontier Parks within Southern Africa. The Park is situated in the heart of the Kalahari Desert, and is well known for the variety of wild life to be spotted. The red sand dunes of the Kalahari Desert are a natural beauty and gives a great atmosphere to the experience. During the stay can you go on night drives with a qualified guide or do some game walk and learn more about the small things which are all around us in the desert.

Day 6: Augrabies National Park (380km 4 ½ hours)
Leaving the red sand dunes of the Kalahari behind and make your way towards Augrabies National Park. Upon arrival can you relax around the pool and visit the majestic Augrabies Waterfalls in the afternoon. 

Day 7: Upington (120km 2 hours)
Having a short drive back to Upington today will you be returning the vehicle and fly to your next destination.
